This layout describes one of the nicknames of my daughter's birth country, Guatemala: Land of Eternal Spring.
I started this layout by affixing a sheet of blue silk paper to a plain white sheet of cardstock. I thought that the wispy blue silk threads looked kind of like willowy clouds on a sunny day. To make the "Growing in Guatemala" phrase at the bottom, I used dotted lettering to write on the "Guatemala" die cut. The "Growing" is from a sticker sheet and I hand made the "in" with a green journaling pen to try to use the same font as the "Growing" word. Tulip die cuts were woven into the first and last letters in the Guatemala die cut and grass die cuts line the bottom of the page. (I slightly overlapped three for this 8.5 x 11 layout but might suggest getting four for a 12 x 12 page.) I then assembled a paper doll to resemble Maria in the picture, even including a Winnie the Pooh sticker on her shirt! (The hair style is the girl bobbed hair in back with boy bangs in the front but any of the hairstyles could be used. Also, I used the tank shirt from the girl clothes die cut set and the shorts from the boy clothes. Again, any clothes could be chosen.)
I affixed the photo of Maria (taken by her foster mother in Guatemala while she was standing among pretty plants) with flower box corner stickers and the "Growing" sticker. The title "Guatemala - Land of Eternal Spring" was hand-written on white cardstock, trimmed and then affixed to the page with sticker borders.
Please note, I have the primary sticker sheet used in this layout on clearance, so quantities are limited.
