In the notes provided with this layout submission, the creator said: when you look at the scan of the page from the top, you see that I used the Russian vellum phrase "Russia . . Land of my Birth" as a corner counter-piece to the bottom piece. My goals were to try to tie everything to the map, use vellum so that you could see as much of the wonderful paper as possible, and black and white photos to complement the historical feel of postcards. The larger black and white photo is an enlargement of my daughter's passport photo. The other black & white photo comes from her referral video and was the cover of my baby shower invitations. So, both have special significance. I used red writing on the tag and a red version of the Russia cut-out to complement the red seals on the railroad pass. |
